Future’s Honesty Gets Him Dropped from Touring with Drake

15 Oct

“Honest” rapper Future has caused an uproar after comments of Drake’s latest album “Nothing Was the Same”. In a recent interview with Billboard, Future made these remarks concerning NWTS, “Drake made an album that is full of hits but it doesn’t grab you. They’re not possessive; they don’t make you feel the way I do. I want to make you want to fall in love”.

Soon after, Future recanted the statement with this “Respect to Billboard, disappointed on being misquoted..always love for my fam Drizzy Drake,” but by then the damage had been done.

Future is reportedly during Drizzy for $1.5 in lost wages!

Chris Kaman | “I Always Hated Kobe Bryant”

Chris who?

Former Clippers big man had this to say about his new teammate.

I always hated him. When you play against a guy like him, Kevin Durant, LeBron James, you don’t like them because they’re so competitive. I respect that, but I don’t like playing against them. But when you’re on their team, it’s a whole different story. You love the people. They’re good guys.

Kobe, he’s just been working hard trying to get himself ready. He comes to practice and he works his butt off. I respect that as well. I’m excited for him to play. I’m hoping sooner than later.

Because of Kaman’s ability, it’ll be interesting to see how him and Bryant mesh together this season.

Andrew Wiggins is good. Very good

The Jayhawks’ start freshman made his official debut during their annual “Late Night In the Phog” scrimmage Friday night, with fans and students getting very excited for the season to begin in November.

And did Wiggins sure put on a show with exciting plays including highlight dunks throughout the scrimmage. It was announced Thursday that Wiggins would become the first freshman selected to the Big 12 Preseason All-Conference team. I’m sure many in attendance Friday night won’t object to that decision.

The Jayhawks finished their 2012-2013 season at 31-6 falling to Michigan in the Sweet 16. With Ben McLemore leaving, Wiggins looks to be the superstar to step up to the plate.

Just a snippet of what’s to come of Kendrick’s freestyle during the 2013 TDE
BET Hip Hop Awards cypher

“Nothing’s been the same since they dropped Control, & tucked a sensitive rapper back in his Pajama Clothes – Ha-Ha, Jokes on you! Hi-Five!

Looks like a clear jab to Drake if you ask me. When asked about his feelings on Kendrick’s “control” verse during his CRWN interview with Elliott Wilson, Drake had downplayed the hype.

“Are you listening to it now?” Drake asked the crowd. “It was real cool for a couple of weeks but like if I asked you for example, ‘How does that verse start?’” Drake then says that he didn’t feel any kind of way about the verse.

Neither did Busy Bee after Kool Moe D ripped him at Harlem World. Friendly competition is what Hip Hop needs.

Twitter Talk: Are You Engaged or Did He Just Shut You Up

2 Oct

engagement-request-by-emisener

The conversation on my Twitter timeline this morning was whether you really are engaged (with a wedding date) or did he just shut you up.

I know people personally that have been engaged for years, literally. When asked about the “big day”, usually they blow off the question with “we’re still talking about it”, or “we’ve got too much going on right now and when things settle, we’ll start planning”. I leave those type of conversations wondering if they’re engaged or did he just shut her up?

I’ve seen this scenario play time in and time out (in a Tyler Perry fashion) in my community. They’re dating and usually living together. The female wakes up one day and realizes that she’s been giving all she’s got to a man that hasn’t mentioned the “big” commitment yet. She starts dropping subtle hints while passing the jewelry stores inside the mall, bringing home Bride magazines for the coffee table and researching exotic honeymoon locations.

Yet the big day never happens, jobs eventually change, holidays fall on top of each other, and life gets in the way. So she waits. Then one day she wakes up and it dawns on her she’s been engaged for five years and they are no closer to getting on with it than they were the night he asked. And in that moment she finally understands she was never really engaged, he just shut her up.

Don’t let him shut you up ladies!
