When anything can happen, the unusual usually does. The VMA awards has given air-time to some of the greatest performances of all time from Michael Jackson’s 1995 medley to Diana Ross fondling Lil Kim’s bare breast. The 2013 VMA’s was nothing different as boy band, *NSYNC performed “Girlfriend” and “Bye, Bye, Bye” during Justin Timberlake’s 15-minute set.
I only selected five and I’m gonna let you finish but here are the 5 best moment of VMA history.
1995: Michael Jackson Medley
Just incase you forgot why they called Michael Jackson the “King of Pop”, this 15-minute performance was legendary. He ran through hit after hit from Billy Jean to The Way You Make Me Feel effortlessly.
1999: Diana Ross fondles Lil Kim
I’m sure I wouldv’e done the exact same thing.
1999: *NSYNC and Britney Spears “Hit Me Baby On More Time”
This is my entire childhood wrapper in one. I live!
2000: Jim Carey Introduces Eminem
The performance of course was dope but Jim Carey’s introduction is legendary!
2009: Kanye’s Interruption
At this very moment, I wasn’t sure if I should laugh or pray.
1984: Madonna, Like a Virgin
She paved the way for the Britney’s, Gaga’s and Minaj’s to break barriers and be unapologetic in expressing themselves. On top of sitting on-top of a cake singing about being a virgin. Who else but Madonna.
2011: Beyonce’s Annoucement
I don’t remember the performance, too distracted by the baby bump later known as Blue Ivy.
2013: Miley Cyrus Can’t Stop Twerkin’
It was highly uncomfortable watching this performance for a several reasons. Miley’s new obsession with “twerkin” has gone too far and honestly I wish someone would have an intervention with her. Enough is enough. Honestly wish I could get those 6 minutes back. Thanks Miley.
