28 Jul

DJ Khaled took to MTV News to deliver what seems like a heartfelt proposal.

“Nicki Minaj, I’m at MTV, I wanna be honest with you, I love you, I like you, I want you, I want you to be mine,” Khaled opens, before explaining, “The only reason I’m not telling you this face to face is because I understand that you’re busy.”

Khaled then went on to say:

We got the same symptoms, we suffer from success

Nicki has since been spotted wearing what looks to be a big diamond on her ring finger.

Does this mean she said yes? US Weekly caught up with the “We The Best” boss at a screening for Rick Ross “Magic City”.

Khaled ensures that his proposal was sincere “I want to marry her! I was serious.” he told US Weekly adding “She can take her time and think about it. At least she knows how I feel now.”

I’m still waiting for everyone to scream “sike”. “Suffering From Success drops September 24th which could possibly have something to do with this whole ordeal.

Video: Nicki Minaj Exclusive Interview w/ Mona Scott

18 Jul

Not everyday you see two industry women partner together in a business venture. Earlier this year, it was announced that Mona Scott-Young (best known recently for Love & Hip Hop) had partnered with Nicki Minaj on a new venture, Myx Fusions Moscato, which will feature Nicki as not only the face of the brand, but also a co-owner.

The two women plan to redefine the say consumers drink wine by bottling the product in smaller, more appealing bottles that are sold in 4-packs at your local convenient stores.

The two made sure that the new moscato appealed to women who wanted a drink that made them feel sexy, without getting overly intoxicated. ‘I want women to understand not so much how it taste, but how it makes them feel,’ says Nicki.

On Independence Day, Necole Bitchie had the chance to sit down with the two on the Myx & Mine cruise. They talked about the partnership and how it came about.

You can clearly see the Michael Jackson influence in Ciara from her new single “I’m Out” video (references Mike&Janet’s Scream video) and her way of dress during performances.

After years of “ok” records, it seems Ciara has finally found her lane. The album self-entitled “Ciara” is actually dope. Check out her latest performance of “I’m Out” on Good Morning America today.

Lil Mama Is Still Talkin’ | Wants Nicki Minaj To Acknowledge Other Female Rappers

If anyone cares, Lil Mama is still running her nicely glossed lips. This time the subject is Nicki Minaj. While promoting her new reality series, Hip Hop sisters and role as TLC’s Lefteye she been pretty busy this year. She sat down with The Hollie Wood & Friends Show on BlogTalkRadio where she made a few comments on the state of female hip hop and Nicki Minaj.

What do you think about the female rappers out today?
We need to understand that we all have different stories. One of the things that makes me most happy about music is that I can look at a picture and see Da Brat, Missy, Lil Kim, Left Eye and I know Aaliyah is a singer but to see them all in one photo together hugging and laughing and really having genuine love for each other. I want to feel that with my hip hop sisters. I feel like we shouldn’t bash each other on records and get in-person and talk about how there is no more room for another female MC, it’s only me and F you. Even with the dudes they will battle and let you know, ‘you are not nicer than me’ but at the end of the day we should be able to get together and enjoy each other.

On Nicki Minaj

It’s a lot of underground women who are trying to break through, but on a mainstream level the only person that I really hear on radio is Nicki Minaj. A lot of times I hear her say, “I do this for women” and “I’m doing this for all of us” while she’s accepting a BET Award, but other than that I don’t see her putting any other women on. I don’t see her on tracks with other women that are current. I don’t see her embracing any other women. I feel like its time for female MC’s to really start sticking together and start putting out some music.
